馬來西亞首都吉隆坡,從早年沼澤地發展成為今日的國際都會,各民族攜手建設,做出了巨大貢獻。華裔先輩的事跡更是血淚交織,一代又一代人,百年之後長眠於此,留下感人故事與歷史見證!雪隆福建會館守護先輩精神,開闢吉隆坡福建義山,至今百年,後人緬懷先賢祖輩,恩情永在。
今日的吉隆坡福建義山環境,也被視為城市綠肺,保留著蒼翠青山的自然生態。這裡不僅是先人安息處,同時也是天地間動植物的棲息地。歷史的循環往復與生命堆疊交織,勾勒出福建義山人文內涵,以及豐碩的大自然景觀。
雪隆福建會館作為吉隆坡福建義山的管理機構,守護歷史文化及環境的同時,傳承精神堅定不移,並延伸至推廣文化活動。 2022年,遂提出了開創性的構思,在山上舉辦意義深遠的人文活動:「Jelajah-古跡自然生態藝術展」。
雪隆福建會館與Lostgens’當代藝術空間,是古跡自然生態藝術展的策劃單位,邀請了9位不同宗教背景的藝術家與藝術團體,根據吉隆坡福建義山的歷史文化及環境背景,以義山為舞臺,在山上進行自然生態藝術展覽,展出實景裝置的藝術作品。
古跡自然生態藝術展,不僅為傳達義山是生命終點的落腳處,也同時展現另一段生命的延續。展覽的作品內容將圍繞在飲水思源、歷史追溯、文化傳承及自然生態環境等等主題,致力於傳達多元、多方面的正面精神與正能量。
The Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association (SKLHA), established in 1885, is responsible for the development and management of the Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Cemetery.
For more than a century, this cemetery has been the final resting place for Kuala Lumpur Hokkien community including many prominent Hokkien leaders for more than a century. The part of the natural ecology of the cemetery has been preserved and it is now considered as a green lung for the city and a habitat for animals and plants. The cycle of history is intertwined with life, manifesting the cultural essence of the cemetery and its rich natural landscape.
As the guardian of KL Hokkien Cemetery, the Association is committed to protect the history, culture, environment, and spirit of this inheritance. This year, 2022, the Association is embarking on some pioneering ideas which are; the Heritage Nature Park Art Festival, painting and photography competitions, planting of native forest trees and beautification of the cemetery.
SKLHA in partnership with Lostgens’ Contemporary Art Space is planning a Heritage art exhibition in this historical cemetery. A total of nine (9) artists and art groups from diverse religious backgrounds have been invited to participate in the exhibition. The exhibits will make use of the cemetery landscape as the platform to show case the art works installations.
The Heritage exhibitions will attempt to show that while the cemetery may be the end of one’s life journey, it is also the continuing point for other lives in different existence and planes. The work or theme of the exhibitions will focus on gratitude, tracing of history, cultural heritage and the natural and ecological environment. The exhibitions hope to capture and convey the diverse and multifaceted aspects and positive spirit of the cemetery.
